2025. 'FIGURA', a group exhibition curated by ALPHA and facilitated by Inter Agency.

"FIGURA explores experimental fashion created by emerging Nordic talent. The fashioned body is a limited concept that allows little deviation from the ideal form. Throughout history, aesthetic norms exist around the body. From Chinese foot-binding to corsets to today’s cosmetically enhancements, bodies are moulded according to cultural ideals. Yet, a new generation of fashion designers are approaching the body through a different, more heterogenous lens, exploring fashion through artistic practice.

Inspired by natural landscapes, Sisse Bjerre’s papier-mâché pieces appear as if an invisible form has left an imprint of the moment of wearing. As a landscape of moss, another piece invites us to reflect on our relationship with nature.

Kathrine Kirk takes the material qualities of packaging, including shipping labels, used cardboard packaging boxes and tape, and, through the work of hands, turns them into high-quality garments. To liberate the creative process from preconceived ideas, Tilde Herold’s sculptural work is built on dress forms that have been re-sculpted with layers of padding to achieve new modified shapes that evoke hybrid human forms (Alpha Fashion, 2025)".
